New Vaccines in Chattisgarh
Today the first in a series of workshops has begun at Circuit House Raipur. The DPM and DAM of all districts attended. Speakers included the Director Health Services. MD NHM was also invited. Manish Gawande SRTL WHO and Anshuman Das of UNICEF were present. Also Urya Nag SPM of NHM, Kamalesh Jain representing Urban Health. Saw Satish SPM Urban, Prashant Nayak of UNICEF, Kavita of NHM among others.
Dr Amar Singh Thakur SEPIO spoke on status of cold chain equipment and distributed GoI guidelines on how to condemn old equipment. Raipur, Bilaspur, Baloda Bazar and Korba have just had Indradhanush Catch Up rounds
Bilaspur seems to have found some children in July that were not in their original plan. Hopefully this is related to the one to two year old children who completed immunization a bit late and the recorder marked them as "fully" (ie got BCG, 3 DPT, Polio and Measles within 1 year)
